Senator Byrd on Reconciliation – Brilliant!
I saw this video, thanks to Robert Johnson, via Breitbart.tv.
It is Senator Robert Byrd in 2001, discussing Bill Clinton’s health care initiative and his attempt to get it passed through reconciliation; just as Obama and Reid and Pelosi are attempting to do right now. The difference is, Senator Byrd had ETHICS! He felt a responsibility to the people of the United States as a whole, and to the effect this massive overhaul would have on us and our economy. Unfortunately, there are few in congress today who feel that compunction, and none in the majority who do. (And, if they do, they are being bribed and/or bullied out of it; or being totally over ruled and over ridden).
Watch this video, and then call your senators and representatives. Ask them if they have the cojones to reach this standard? Want to take any bets on the Answer?

Republicans want want failure, they want things like the insurance companies to continue to rake in billions and to keep the unwealthy at a disadvantage. The infrastructures portion was what we needed to get us going in advancing our country to come into the present but the old conservatives who want to go back to the “simpler times” (ie. slavery, and racial discrimination via lower education). Our country and everyday people need help due to bad financial policy and they are just not getting it. Who is getting it? Big business. God bless America.
Good thing we aren’t republicans, though we would rather have a representative republic than a progressive, statist regime that feels like they can just deem laws into existence.
Considering you are writing a comment to a post about a man in the left wing of the party you are touting, and this man was a grand wizard of the KKK, I wouldn’t talk too much about racism and slavery when you haven’t heard my impassioned speaking on the subject of true equality on my radio shows.
When you are done speaking out of your ass, you’ll maybe also remember that historical accuracy has the Republicans as the party of the people who freed the slaves and voted overwhelmingly to APPROVE and PASS the Civil Rights Act that many DEMOCRATS didn’t want to vote for.
As moronic attackers go, you are a simpleton who doesn’t even bother to try too hard to come at me. I was defeating people like you long before I got too far in my political education. If you would bother to crack true history books and see what happened when, you’d realize what a drooling baboon butt you sound like.
Every day people would receive more help by being able to keep more of the money THEY earn instead of having it confiscated to give to the people who don’t really care all that much to try and make it on their own.
The people who are really hurting are the select few who are truly hurting because of the waste, fraud, abuse, graft and theft that is pervasive in a government system and keeps more aid from going to the really needy.
If you could name one government system that came in under budget and was successful at what it said it was going to do, I’d be impressed since it would take a miracle.
Big business gives all of us jobs and that allows us to earn the money we pay into the government coffers to pay out to people who don’t earn it and countries who disrespect us while taking billions from us to build their palaces while the majority of their people sleep in cardboard huts – and you are criticizing the country that is the MOST generous in the world?
Get a life – and do us all a favor – unplug from the internet.
