The U.S. Census Bureau metformin hcl 850 mg reports annually on the amount and distribution of Federal Aid to State and Local Governments. The latest report available is for 2009 and highlights Federal Aid to all of the states as well as the type of aid given and the amount per capita (person). Federal Aid is available thanks to federal income taxes which of course are taken from the hard-earned dollars of those who actually pay federal income taxes (currently only 53% of taxpayers in the United States , regardless of which state you happen to live in.
Below is a graph of Federal Aid to State and Local Governments, Per Capita Ranges by state for fiscal year 2009. The darkest color are the states receiving the most Federal Aid while the lightest represent the states that receive the least Federal Aid.
Below is another graph in which states are listed in order from the highest amount of Federal Aid received (Alaska) to the Lowest amount of Federal Aid received (Virginia) split out by the type of aid:
Let’s break this down into Forced Union states vs. Right-to-Work states. The lists below show all of the Forced Union states and Right-to-Work states with the Median Per Capita Federal Aid received by state. Median was calculated by using the ‘Dollars Per Capita’ from the Census Bureau state chart other than the highest amounts since only $2,400 and up is listed. The Rank is the where the state sits relative to the other states in receiving the amount of Federal Aid with 1 being the highest amount of aid received and 50 being the least amount of Federal Aid received (D.C. was not included in these charts per the Census Bureau).
As you can see from the charts, Forced Union states on average per person receive more Federal Aid than Right-to-Work states. The states that receive the highest amounts ($2,400) per capita are split pretty evenly between Forced Unions and Right-to-Work states by 6-5. The states that receive the next highest amount ($2,100) lean to the Forced Union states by 7-3. The states at the next level ($1,700) again lean heavily to the Forced Union states by 10-4. Interesting that the states that receive the least amount of Federal Aid per capita ($800) lean heavily to the Right-to-Work states 10-5. Obviously there are more Forced Union states than Right-to-Work but the averages tell the story regardless.
Unions and their supporters are constantly barraging this country with how wonderful they are and how needed they are to make it better. Yet so far the numbers have shown that Forced Union states have the highest tax rates and the worst debt troubles . If Forced Union states are so fantastic, one would assume they wouldn’t need as much Federal Aid as Right-to-Work states. Alas, this is not true based on numbers from the Census Bureau. Governors and Legislators across the country who are trying to change their states to Right-to-Work states indeed have the best interests of their constituents in mind. The proof is in the numbers.

Figures lie and liars figure. I’m sure you think you have it all figured out.
So if what you are saying is true, then the Wisconsin Republicans are not really about cutting the budget, they are about union busting as a Republican goal, since they will surely lose Federal Funding which is, as of 2009, at $1,600 to $1,799 per person.
But see – where you see federal funding going to a state as a good thing – I see it better as if the federal pickpockets never took the people’s money OUT of their pockets, enabling them to be less dependent on the government for a handout that costs, depending on the numbers you see anywhere from .50 to .76 out of every 1.00 going through DC only to have it turn right back around and come back to the states.
How stupidly inefficient.
Lose 1/2 to 3/4 of the money for a step that is entirely unnecessary in the first place and could be done directly by the states in the second place at less cost.
Sure – got it. Handouts are good according to some.
I would disagree. So yes. I agree with your premise.
If every state did the same, the tax burden for the employment in the state would drop, the tax burden for the ponzi scheme pensions would drop (we’re paying for them twice – once to fund over promised pensions and benefits – the second time to bail them out because GOD knows the unions shouldn’t have to pay a DIME for their OWN bennies), the waste would drop and the cost and tax burden of the federal government would drop easing the tax burden by several hundred dollars.
Frankly, I wonder why the unions think this is union busting, other than the fact that people won’t HAVE to join them. I love that – give the people freedom of choice. Unless that is what the unions are afraid of.
Let me see – how many millions of people in WI? Dropping the funding 100.00 per person. Do the math. In fact, if they could manage to drop it 100.00 time 310,000,000 people – that would be 310 billion.
Damn skippy I would be glad to see that.
Divide that by the 140 million taxpayers.
Simple math, simple logic.
