The Left metformin weight loss reviews is constantly demonizing the Koch Brothers for everything from paying social media users to spreading Conservatism to financing any and all Conservative movements.  They have been painting them as ‘evil‘ because that’s what the Left does.  The Left’s most recent accusations against the Koch Brothers are in regards to the showdown between Republican Governor Scott Walker and Wisconsin public employee unions.  For some insane reason they think the evil, plotting Koch Brothers are completely behind the Governor’s attempt at becoming a more business friendly state in order to help the economy.

With all the fear and hate mongering coming from the Left, you would think that the Koch Brothers spend more than every business, lobbyist, union and special interest combined.  They must be the Godzilla of spending on elections and issues right?  Hardly and not even close.  If you take a look at www.OpenSecrets.org you will find the facts.  In combined totals from 1989 – 2010, of the top 140 ‘Heavy Hitters’ for spending, Koch Industries comes in at number 84.  Not quite the evil, ginormous spending Kings as they are made out to be:

As you can see below, the Top 25 Heavy Hitters mostly support Democrats.  The number one being a progressive special interest group and the number two being a public employees’ union.  Shocked? You shouldn’t be unless you are a Left Winger who is fed lies by the DNC, OFA, Union groups and of course the Liberally biased Main Stream Media.

Now let’s break it down into actual numbers.  Over the past 11 years there has been a total of $2,159,768,904 spent by Unions, Business, Special Interest and Associations for elections and other issues.  Totals show 54% to Democrats and 45% to Republicans.  The breakdown is as follows:

It’s pretty clear from the amounts above that special interest groups such as ActBlue and Unions such as AFSCME spend the majority of their money on Democrats.  Associations and Businesses tend to spend their money more evenly across party lines, with Associations leaning slightly Right and Businesses leaning slightly more Right.

How does Koch Industries compare against Unions?  From what the Left says, you would think that Koch spends every last dime they make on Republicans and it’s the most unbelievable amount on the planet but the numbers speak the truth:

You read that correctly – Unions have spent $551,244,577 more over the last 11 years than Koch Industries.

If you just want to compare what the public employees union spent compared to Koch Industries you get the following:

AFSCME spent $32,457,526 more over the last 11 years than Koch Industries.

Can it get any more clear than this?  It is obvious that Koch Industries barely has skin in the game compared to the Unions, yet they and Liberals alike vilify the Kochs as though they are the Darth Vader of Conservative financing.  The Left is constantly calling Republicans and Conservatives corporate shills yet it is clear from the numbers that Businesses contribute a great amount to both parties.  It is the Unions that are the evil, wealthy financiers in politics.  The Koch brothers are paupers in comparison.

Yes, those unions sure are evil.

While most Conservatives are happy to pander to their corporate masters, the war on Unions will inevitably see all Americans working at a Wal-Mart for four dollars an hour while the company makes record profits year after year.

How blind and stupid you Neo-Con trash are(that’s exactly what you are, because true conservatives don’t play this idiotic game). Go back to your Fox News, your Tea Parties

  2. Wow your numbers on the Koch brothers are so far off it’s laughable. American’s for Prosperity alone spent 40 million in the 2010 election. You have no clue how many groups are funded by them, they spent 48 million from 05-08 funding anti green house gas groups, the spent over 33 million on lobbyists in 08 and 09. It goes on and on like that. In the past 30 years they have directly spent 100 million plus on campaigns. This is TWO people. The Unions you are talking about represent hundreds of thousands of people throughout the United States. Seriously, go back and do some more research.

Those evil Koch Brothers… I wonder who the Left would blame if they didn’t have business in Wisconsin?? Oh any old rich, white dudes would probably do I’m sure.

LOL ConD – only 11.9% of the entire workforce is unionized – I guess that means we are all poor right? There are all kinds of laws protecting employees in place – unions outserved their purpose LONG AGO.

Hey Peg – I’m pretty sure this article only includes direct funding and you can look up those numbers for yourself. Do you think Unions don’t spend multi-millions on PACS and special interests? You would be incorrect. Unions spend millions upon millions upon millions more than the Koch Brothers could dream of in any given year and that doesn’t include the politicking they pay for but don’t report on that directly helps Democrats.

Will the Left ever become informed about the truth?? Most likely NOT.

  4. ClearEyedThinker says:

Who spends on who should not be the point.

We should be working to remove all money-based advantages from the electoral process.

If groups want to donate, it should be to a general fund that is shared equally between all candidates for a given office.

Only then will it be the voice of the people or the quality of the candidate, not the size of the pocketbook, that determines who represents the people of the United States.
